A Maltese lawyer who has been living in Australia since he was a small boy, has written a best-selling book purporting to provide “scientific evidence” of the existence of an afterlife.
Victor J. Zammit states as a presentation to his book that it is “guaranteed to change: your world perception, make you understand that consciousness survives physical death and to give you empirical substance to know that you will always have the ultimate truth.

“My afterlife evidence is not just a summary of the available evidence,” he says, “but a legal presentation of the evidence. The presentation of the admissible evidence is done in plain English but in a legally admissible way.
“My professional training as a lawyer taught me that in all circumstances, without exception, never to believe anyone, anywhere, anytime and anyplace unless I am presented with irrefutable, hard core evidence that what is being stated and expressed can be independently substantiated.
“I am also an empiricist – using scientific method to measure phenomena – which means I do not have the luxury of beliefs. This is the kind of admissible objective evidence I have presented in my book.”

Victor James Zammit, B.A.(Psych.), Grad. Dip.Ed.(UTS), M.A. (Legal Hist.), LL.B.(UNSW), Ph.D, lawyer, Euro-Australian, is a retired lawyer of the Supreme Court of the New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.
Victor arrived in Australia from Malta in 1957. He worked as an attorney in the Local Courts, District and Supreme Courts in Sydney and then became a specialist and lecturer in Corporation Law.
Victor pursued extensive extra curricular activities in civil liberties and human rights, participating in public debates. He did and still does volunteer work in legal aid and legal referral.
For over a decade, from 1970 to 1980 on Sundays Victor volunteered his professional services as meetings co-ordinator and chairperson at the famous non-denominational and politically active ‘Wayside Organisation’ at Kings Cross, Sydney.
He worked closely with the legendary spiritually radical, charismatic leader, the Rev. Ted Noffs, and was influenced by his teaching of universal consciousness and respect for all religions and non religionists.

He was attracted by the philosophy of the Wayside Chapel – “I am a Catholic, a Protestant, a Jew, a Muslim, a Sikh, a Buddhist, a Hindu … I am part of all religions past, present and future, because I am a human being and nothing is alien to me …”
Further, the emphasis at the Wayside was on social justice, in doing for the good of humanity and not on beliefs.
Victor was initially suspicious of the New Age Movement for what appeared to be its blatant commercial exploitation of people’s basic instinctual tendency for spiritual development. However, he had a number of psychic/spiritual experiences which set him questioning, reading and researching. Adopting a scientific criterion, Victor was able to select that information which could withstand and pass the many rigid tests of objectivity.
Victor is now a full time writer and researcher on empirical evidence for the afterlife. The book, A Lawyer Presents the Case for the Afterlife, is regularly being accessed by thousands of people from around the world including all the English speaking countries and China, Russia, Africa, Asian countries, South Americas, European countries.
On his website (www.victorzammit.com) Victor keeps readers abreast of emerging evidence and links with others active in investigating the afterlife.
